UCO Bank is an Indian public sector bank with its head office in Kolkata. It is constituted under the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970. Its shares are listed on the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE, and the Government of India holds 90.95%. The bank was founded in 1943 as United Commercial Bank, nationalised on 19 July 1969 and renamed UCO Bank by an Act of Parliament in 1985.
