Directory
Identification is public. Assessment is not.
Every page in this directory answers one question from public sources: who is this institution, and who supervises it. The Elucidate FinCrime Index answers the next one — how much financial crime risk it carries — on the same method for every institution it covers. This page is how to get it.
The directory stays free to read, search and cite · Index access is commercial
What the directory publishes
A status set by an authority, not an assessment
The directory is a public record, assembled from Swift's ISO 9362 BIC directory, GLEIF, the sanctions lists and the public registers it tracks. Every field keeps the date of the source behind it. Nothing on a directory page is a judgement of an institution's financial crime risk.
It identifies
Who is behind a BIC, an LEI or a licence number; the legal entity, its addresses, its branches and its corporate group.
Free, with no login, for people and for software agents alike.
It reports status
Which registers and lists name an institution, and what each authority says: a licence, a registration, a sanctions listing, a supervisory status.
A listing is a status set by the authority that publishes it. Quoting it is not an assessment by Elucidate.
It does not assess
No directory page ranks, scores or rates an institution. Absence from a register is not evidence that an institution is unregulated.

The index scores what the directory identifies
The Elucidate FinCrime Index (EFI) is an independent score of the financial crime risk of banks and payment firms, built for correspondent banking and counterparty due diligence. It is the assessment the directory deliberately leaves out.
One score, nine themes
A composite score for an institution, with the analysis behind it across nine risk themes, reported monthly.
The same method for every institution covered, so two counterparties can be compared on one basis.
What goes into it
The public record this directory already assembles, the institution's own answers where it provides them — the Wolfsberg CBDDQ among them — and Elucidate's analysis of both.
How the index is built →What it is not
An EFI score is Elucidate's assessment on a published method. It is not a regulatory status, a credit rating, or the view of any authority, and it does not replace your own due diligence.
Elucidate's AI management system is certified to ISO/IEC 42001, alongside ISO/IEC 27001 for information security.
How access works
Tell us the counterparties. We confirm what is covered.
Coverage varies by institution and by market, so the first step is always a straight answer about the counterparties you actually deal with — before any commercial conversation.
01 You tell us who
One counterparty, a portfolio, or your own institution. A list of names or BICs is enough to start.
02 We confirm coverage
Which of those institutions the index covers today, what the scores rest on, and what reporting you would receive. If we cannot cover a counterparty, we say so.
03 Access, under an agreement
Scores and the monthly report, through the platform or into your own systems, under an agreement that sets out what may be shared and with whom.
We do not publish pricing. Terms depend on how many institutions you need, how often, and in what depth — which is why the conversation starts with your counterparty list. The directory itself stays free: scoring is a separate product, and nothing behind this page changes what any directory page publishes.
Request access
Ask for the score
Tell us which institutions matter to you. A member of the team replies with what the index covers for those counterparties, and what access would involve.
- 01Who you are. A work email, so we can place the request.
- 02Which institutions. Names, BICs or a description of the portfolio.
- 03What happens next. A reply from the team, usually within two working days.
Prefer email? Write to sales@elucidate.co. For a correction to a directory page, use the corrections route instead — this form does not change what a page shows.
