BNP Paribas SA is a French public limited company (société anonyme) and the parent company of the BNP Paribas Group, registered at 16 boulevard des Italiens, Paris. Its shares are listed on Euronext Paris, with BlackRock and the Belgian State (through SFPI) each holding more than 5% of voting rights. The bank provides retail, corporate, investment and transaction banking, and through subsidiaries asset management, insurance and specialised financing. It was formed by the merger of BNP and Paribas on 23 May 2000.
